Short and Long Dates
Previously with EasyAs on older versions of Windows a simple method was implemented whereby some of the screens within the software and some of the printed reports (such as some dates printed on invoices) could use a Short or Medium Date Format.
However with the newer versions of Windows this has been superseded; as this type of feature is no longer available as Windows now only delivers a Short and Long Date.
EasyAs will still follow the Short and Long Date Settings as per your Windows Operating System. So in this case EasyAs will use this information according to how you have your date features setup in Windows. This is because EasyAs grabs this information directly from Windows (as like most software the date is always delivered by Windows).
So if you see a date box on one of your screens or on say a printed invoice (for example) that looks like ###### then this is most likely because of the Short Date Setting in windows. Its because the date information is too long, thus there is too much information and it wont fit into the box provided.
Typically the short date needed will be MM/DD/YY or MMM/DD/YY
To alter your short date settings in Windows you will need to go to your control panel and select “Region”, then you should be able to alter your Short Date Setting.
The Image below is from my computer, it shows the Short and Long Date Setting. I am in Australia so it appears with the Day first followed by the Month: DD/MM/YY
