Whilst our accounting program offers an extensive array of support and help via the help screens, it is also impossible for any program of this type to solve all the issues and scenarios that pop up whilst running your small business.
This is understandable and we accept this, we also know that accounting as a subject really sucks, and most contractors and small businesses hate doing it at the best of times. So in the end when something doesn’t go to plan its easy to become annoyed.
This is why we have placed some of the most commonly asked questions below. If you do not find your answer please review the other links at the left hand side of this page, and/or the training videos.

Why am I unable to insert dates – I am in the right Financial Year ? |
Australians: If you are having problems with the date then check to see if your windows operating system is set to the US or Australian Dates. Other Problems: For anyone from any country who is having problems with dates, they appear to be wrong or it appears you cannot enter a complete financial year, then you may also need to check the date settings of your pc. In most cases of date issues it is nearly always a regional setting, your windows software may be set to use the US Regional Format, when you really want it set to use the Australian Regional Date Format – or some other configuration When Windows is first setup on a pc you always have the choice of deciding the date settings. But like most of us, we simply click yes and expect that windows will setup the way we want.. This seems to be where the problems which involve the regional settings are coming from, but its easy to fix. Please remember that this has nothing to do with the EasyAs Software, this is a windows setting, but it can be solved. Other Financial Year Entry Problems: If you are attempting to enter a transaction and you find that the software is not allowing it, then it could be that when you first setup the easyas software you incorrectly setup the financial year. I setup my Logos for Printing, But they do not appear on my invoices when I save the file to disk for email attachment, Why ?

Due to software restrictions it is not possible to have your logo attached to invoices and quotes etc when using the “save to disk” icon. However, there is a way print these documents with your logos.. This will mean you can print invoices and email them to your clients with you logos on the invoice.

How Do I Get A Replacement Copy of The EasyAs Software ?

If your computer has crashed and you are needing to restart all over again, simply go to our download page and download another copy on Trial. If you have been backing up your data (which for your sake I hope you did), then once you have reinstalled the software simply restore your data and you can continue using the software as usual. If you did not have any backups and you have to restart all your accounts again then once you have installed the software you can simply insert your serial number and begin using the software. Note: The Trial Software is the Full Version, there is no other software to download. Trial means you get full use of the Full Compete Program for 30 Days |

The trial period ended and I cannot see me data, is it all lost?

No your data is fine. Once the trial period ends you will see a screen that requests a serial number for continuation. Bank Reconciliation – Can I download my Banking Data and Perform a Bank Reconciliation?

EasyAs is unlike any other software on the market, we have extinguished the need to follow like sheep and perform irrelevant processes that don’t help most Contractors and Small Businesses. Bank Reconciliation is a process that requires you put all your income into a bank account, then to have all your expenditure come from the same account. Bit in reality this does not happen for most Small Businesses, as many are mums and dads making a crust, and in many cases our daily transactions are a combination of personal and business accounts, as well as cash transactions. So because the EasyAs software is the next generation of accounting this idea was removed. You are not forced to carry out these processes. However, many of us still want to be able to check certain amounts from banking statements to ensure accuracy. Because of this we have included a very unique simple process which can be used to audit your bank statements. This means that once a month you can spend 10mins and audit your statements and cross reference any amounts deposited etc… Please watch the income and expense videos NOTE: Because of our Unique approach to Accounting you are unable to download information from bank accounts with the idea of importing this information into the software. For us to be able to provide such a facility would mean that we would have to charge large yearly update fees like many of our competitors due to the extra work involved in staying on top of all of the banking and internet changes. We have no intention of joining the rat race for something that has no real place in small business accounting.. If you require software that can perform this then you may need to look for a product that can provide this.

I want to backup my data files to CD, but the Software is not allowing this to happen

Due to software restrictions we are are unable to add a facility to backup direct to a CD, as the only way to talk to your CD is through your personal CD Software, so this is something we cannot perform. The backup process that comes with EasyAs is fantastic for backing up between other Hard Drives, Thumb Drives (removable disks) and other similar devices. You can however easily perform a manual backup of your Data File direct to a CD by copying all the date files found in the EasyAs Data Directory using your CD Software. The date files which you need to copy to your cd are found in the data directory: C:EasyAsAccounting8Data There are a total of 4 files which need to be copied, this is a list of the names of the data files: EasyData1.accdb, EasyData2.accdb, EasyData3.accdb, EasyData4.accdb More information On Backup and Restore can be found on our dedicated Page. . |
Am I able to get a copy of the software on disk?

At this stage we are not making our software available on cd, the software was designed with the internet in mind. You are free to download the software and store a copy on CD if you wish. Please note that the EasyAs Software has never been available on CD and we doubt it ever will, this is because the software was designed for a worldwide audience and specifically for easy downloading via the internet

Is there a Mac Version of the Software ? |
EasyAs was first created in the windows environment and has continued to remain as such. However, we now have many clients who have switched to the Mac and are now using the EasyAs Software on their Mac Naturally to run EasyAs on the Mac you will need to also have windows installed.. There are different ways in which windows can be setup on the mac Running windows on a Mac can be done by setting up an alternative boot, this will allow you to either boot to windows or boot to a mac environment when you turn the machine on.. However the down side of this is that you can only run one system at one time, which means that if you were using the mac and wanted to run windows you would have to exist and close down and reboot the system into windows, and visa version. This method of booting from our point of view is not really useful. The other method is to install a program that will allow you to run both operating systems at the same time.. We believe the installing of a separate program to allow you to run both operating systems at the same time is the best way to go. This means that you can run your Mac as usual and at any time you can also open a separate window into the windows environment to run any windows based programs… The software we use and recommend is : VMWare Fusion.
We are unable to offer any support for setting up your Mac so we suggest that you seek advice before moving forward. You will find that VMWare do offer support and information on their website, but those new to the Mac System may need to contact other Mac Users or a Mac Dealer to provide extra assistance before jumping in.

When I downloaded the Software it does not appear on my Start Menu, I cannot find it? |
When you download the software from our site it will save to a destination determined by the settings in your computer, and/or to the directory your choose. Once you download the file you also have to install the software. If you are not familiar or unsure where the file was saved, simply do a search of your computer for a file called EasyAcct.exe. Once you locate the file use your mouse. locate the file, and double click using your left mouse button, then follow the prompts and install the software. Why do I see long rectangles or thick grids on my screen? |
EasyAs is created to run on machines using reasonable levels of graphics found in today’s evolution of pc’s. In most cases you experience rectangles across your screen because your screen settings are set too low, or you do not have a driver installed for your video card. Check your screen settings and ensure that you have at least a Color Quality of 24bit. Once you change this setting you will experience the software in its fullness. |

Why do I get a Windows Error when I try to run the program ? |
For reasons which are beyond anyone’s control the windows operating system can develop issues with itself. I purchased a new Pc, How do I setup EasyAs on my New Computer ? |
EasyAs is sold on a per computer basis.. And obviously almost users of the software only require to setup their accounts once, simply because of the nature of the software.. Being that it holds your business financial information its not the sort of program that you get excited about installing and using on all of your computers. But naturally when your old pc has given up the ghost or when you simply want to change computers and install EasyAs onto a new computer you want to know how to do this. I did a backup but when I click on the files all I see is a Blank Screen |
Please be aware that this is normal. There is no way of looking at the data in the files that easyas backs up. The only way that the data can be viewed is by the EasyAs Program itself. An important point to note: The files that contain your data hold the information in a series of tables. If you accidentally made a change to the information in any of the key locations in any of the tables this could render your information useless. This is why under normal conditions the only way to be able to view the information in the backup files is by using the EasyAs Accounting Software. The most important point to remember is to backup. If you follow the steps to backing up and you have backed up your files then you should be fine: Backing Up My Data It is important to backup regularly and to keep staggered copies of your data to protect yourself against data corruption.. Can I Get Rid of the Numbers at the Front of Reports ?

Saved Documents such as PDF or Word Documents are always saved with the Business Number. However you CAN instruct EasyAs to remove the number from all saved documents. To find out more follow this link to remove business numbers |
